Accessibility

We at Harper Joy Theater strive to make our facilities and productions accessible to all patrons. Below, we have outlined the accommodations that Harper Joy Theater currently offers and we encourage you to call or email us to ensure that your experience with our theater is comfortable and safe. If there is a service that we do not currently provide but that you need or would improve your experience here, do not hesitate to reach out to our Box Office at (509) 527-5180 or theater_and_dance@whitman.edu and we will do our best to accommodate you. Thank you!

Wheelchair Access

A limited number of wheelchair accessible seats and adjacent companion seats are available at each of our performances. These are assigned on a first come basis. Please contact our Box Office during your purchase of wheelchair tickets, so we may release adjacent seats for any requested companion seating.

Hearing Devices

At Harper Joy Theater, we provide Listen Technologies assistive listening devices for patrons with mild-to-moderate hearing loss. Our devices transmit audio from our theater spaces, through a stereo headset jack, and into provided over-the-ear, single-ear headsets.

A deposit of a driver’s license or equivalent official document is due before the show and will be returned upon return of the devices and headphones.

Our assistive listening devices are distributed at the Will Call window on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Large Print Programs

Harper Joy Theater is happy to provide large print programs by request. If you are interested in receiving a large print program, please specify as such in our “Special Instructions and Comments” section when purchasing tickets. Your programs will be available at Will Call on the night of your performance.

Service Animals

While comfort animals and pets are not allowed on the premises, patrons are welcome to bring service animals with them to our facilities and performances. Please notify the Box Office in advance of the performance whether you will require room for your service animal in the “Special Instructions and Comments” section when purchasing tickets.
